Children’s Meeting & Child Care

Families with small children join Westtown Meeting for Worship at 10:30 to experience the profound beauty of shared silent worship. At 10:45, our children, led by skilled religious educators and their teenage assistants, leave the meeting for 45 minutes of reading, games, conversation, and snacks. During that time away from the adult Meeting, the Children’s Meeting exposes our young Quakers to topics that expand their understanding of what it means to be a Quaker — simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, environmental stewardship, and justice. Once every two months, we combine our Children’s Meeting with the adult Meeting to share and reflect on a story taken from the Godly Play or the Faith and Play curriculum. These Intergenerational Meetings serve to connect Westtown Quakers of all ages with the blessings that flow from shared worship.
